Programme Quality and Learning Solutions Manager, Global PDQ Unit
The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Programme Quality and Learning Solutions Manager, Global PDQ Unit in London, UK or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.
Role Purpose:
The Global Programme Strategy, Development and Quality (PDQ) Unit sits within the Programme Quality & Impact (PQI) Department of Save the Children International. The department is responsible for the quality of the programme outcomes the organization achieves for and with children. The Global PDQ unit contributes to this by: providing leadership on the organization’s programme strategy; lifting up and championing our best, evidence-based programmatic approaches; providing learning and professional development opportunities for the technical expert and country office PDQ functions; and ensuring that the PDQ and PQI functions are fit for purpose.
The purpose of the Manager role is:
- To support the implementation of the organization’s ambitious global programme strategy and to contribute to driving its programme impact agenda.
- To contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Program Quality and Impact department and PDQ function across the organization with an emphasis on ensuring alignment with regional and country office plans and needs.
- To help to build an innovative and comprehensive approach to learning and professional development for technical experts and PDQ Directors in Save the Children, in particular in country offices.
In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously
- Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Significant job-related experience in adult learning, including relevant experience in development and/or humanitarian contexts
- Ability to work and communicate across cultures, as part of a geographically dispersed team and across organizational teams and stakeholders
- Experience working in at least one of Save the Children’s five global thematic areas (health & nutrition, education, child protection, child poverty and child rights governance) preferred
- Self- motivated and able to work with high degree of autonomy and without close supervision
- Adaptable working style and effective when working in situations that may appear ambiguous
- Experience with web-based platforms and using information systems
- The ability to work in a second language is an advantage, in particular, Arabic, French or Spanish
We can offer circa £44,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
