“Ensure the correct usage of toilet for your Healthy Life” Children in Sri Lanka marking World Toilet Day

On 19th of November children in plantation sector in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, marked World Toilet Day in both schools and in their community.  School Health Clubs, the local Health Authority and Department of Education took part in this important day with the support of Save the Children and Unilever Foundation.

“Wash your Hands for your Healthy Life”, Children in Sri Lanka marking Global Hand Washing Day


On 15th of October children in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka marked Global Hand Washing Day in schools and in their communities. 8000 children from 30 different schools located in plantation sector and adults in thirty communities around those schools demonstrated correct hand washing methods.

Clean Toilets to Good Health Habits to Quality Learning

Children in Habarakada School in Colombo, Sri Lanka are now using standard sanitary facilities after Save the Children with CHINTAI Co. Ltd. Japan renovated the lavatory system in the school, which was opened for use on 7th February 2014. This is a mixed school which has 600 children enrolled.
