Four Children from Sri Lanka took part in “Regional Children’s Meeting in Asia” conducted by Save the Children on 20th and 21st of November 2014 in New Delhi, India. The objective of the meeting was to ensure children’s participation in decision making by including their views in Save the Children International 2016+ strategy and 2030 ambition development process. Children identified key areas where Save the Children should prioritize when planning its 2030 strategy. This Asia Regional meeting was a part of a global children’s consultation.

Thirteen (13) children representing Sri Lanka, Nepal and different parts of India actively participated in the meeting. Countries such as Philippine fed data for the meeting from National Children’s Consultations conducted in their countries. Children presented the identified and prioritized issues to representatives of Board of Governance of Save the Children International. The children also directed questions to the Board of Governance on some issues related to sectors such as education, technology, juvenile justice and climate change.

Save the Children International will include children’s views in its 2016+ strategy and 2030 ambition ensuring children’s voices will be heard.
