Save the children is committed to empower and work with civil society actors in Sri Lanka. This initiative aims build the capacity of local CSOs to promote child rights.

Under the SIDA CSO 2022-2026 Appropriation Grant, we are currently working with 4 strategic partners and network of CSOs to build their capacity, provide flexible funding for organizational development, engage them in policy advocacy and civic space challenges.

Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are essential in Sri Lanka. They fulfil important duties of checks and balances in democracies, are able to influence the government and uphold the rights of people, including children. As Save the Children, we understand the importance of CSO's in Sri Lanka. Through our current work, we have been working with, and building the capacities of local civil society actors and organizations in order to promote child rights in Sri Lanka.
